‘Venom’ movie trailer showcases sinister comic-book villain
When it comes to new movies that take a very different look at the superhero world, “Venom” will certainly fit that bill. The new movie trailer that was released has fans excited to see the story of the Marvel villain unfold on the big screen. Actor Tom Hardy will once again star in the role of a comic book bad guy as he’ll play a man who is overtaken by an alien symbiote. That results in him unleashing pure terror on those around him.

Immediately in the new movie trailer, viewers hear Hardy’s character Eddie Brock as he talks over the stunning visuals. Brock, an investigative reporter, stumbles upon something he ends up wishing he hadn’t discovered. The clips spotlight Eddie as he tries to contend with the inner demon that is awakened inside him. This certainly doesn’t look like a superhero film targetted for the usual Marvel audience consisting of kids and families. Instead, it’s a much more serious look at one of Marvel comic book’s beloved villains.

The trailer is also action-packed as it showcases exactly what this monster is capable of. Scenes show Hardy’s Venom as he morphs into the villainous being and takes out his frustration on a variety of people. Damage and destruction are likely to ensue on a mad romp through the city. Hardy is heard continuously trying to reason with what’s inside him. There’s even a terrifying scene which also interjects humor towards the tail end of the trailer. Fans will be looking forward to the new movie behind the scenes footage of how various visuals were created.

In addition to Hardy’s Brock, other important characters get some screen time in the trailer. These include a potential love interest and a glimpse or two of a few other possible villains featured in the film. There’s a character that may have quite a bit in common with Brock, as well as a scientist who is hell-bent on showing the power of his symbiote experiments. Along with Hardy, the cast list includes Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate and Riz Ahmed.

The movie “Venom” will be rated R and based on the new movie behind the scenes, it could be one of the top new movies in the superhero genre. It won’t be part of the Disney/Marvel collaboration but could provide a successful film despite a very dark tone. “Venom” arrives into theaters on October 5, 2018.
