Top Gun: Maverick

Top Gun: Maverick had a new movie trailer dropped halfway through December of 2019. Tom Cruise’s career in new movies is still going strong, and he is starring the assumed protagonist who looks to be coaching new recruits to the U.S. navy. He is “one of the finest pilots this program has ever produced.” Assumedly, going by the language of the chief speaking, this program is of the likes of which the world has never seen. To be frank, it sounds like it could potentially be the most dangerous program ever produced as well. Despite the protagonist being surprised at “getting an invitation back,” the chief and many others still seem to hold this man in high regard. No new movie behind the scenes are needed to tell that whatever past or mistakes this man has must be haunting him. The tone, his face, his posture, everything seems like he’s surprised as well as hesitant to be in the air again. But going by the chief’s “they’re called orders,” maybe Tom Cruise’s character, Maverick, was forced back rather than “getting an invitation back.” If that is the case, this shows that these two have a closer bond than student and teacher if they can have some banter, maybe almost like father and son? Continuing off of the forced back plot point, one can assume the protagonist will have to overcome himself for the greater good of humanity. The how, with whom, within how much time, and will the hero survive to see his lover again will have to wait. According to the new movie trailer for Top Gun: Maverick, Paramount Pictures are the producers, and they will be releasing this along with their other new movies in 2020. Cheers to any new movie behind the scenes in the future because this looks fun!
