Young married couple Scott (Michael Ealy) and Annie (Meagan Good) have the kind of life others envy: successful, in love, and ready to start a family now that they’ve found the perfect home to buy: Foxglove.
An ivy-covered, century-old beauty with good bones, far from the clatter of the city and set against a picturesque forest, it’s a Napa Valley dream house, one that its current owner, gregarious widower Charlie (Dennis Quaid), is quickly selling in order to move away and live with his grown daughter in another state. Everything seems ready-made for a smooth transition from seller to buyers, except for the fact that Charlie’s attachment to the house is deeper and stranger than Scott and Annie initially realize.
What starts with unscheduled visits, unprompted busywork, and prickly reactions to the changes Scott and Annie make, soon segues into a sinister kind of infiltration into the couple’s everyday lives. When they begin to suspect a hidden motivation to Charlie’s letting go of his

beloved home, the stakes get more dangerous, and Scott and Annie come face to face with the prospect that Charlie isn’t going to let go of his stomping grounds that easily. An edge-of-your- seat chiller teeming with suspense and shocks, The Intruder makes palpable an unforgettable scenario: if it’s the American dream to own one’s own home, what happens when that dream turns into a nightmare?
