Susan is left to her own devices as a single mother who must raise the two boys and work as a waitress to support them. Comic actress Sarah Silverman plays Sheila, a waitress who works with Susan and lends emotional support.Set in a small suburban town, the movie was actually shot in various areas of Manhattan in New York. Surprisingly, there are many areas that can pass for small town America right in the shadow of the Big Apples’ towering skyscrapers.Next door neighbor is young Christina (Maddie Ziegler), the step-daughter of the town’s Police Commissioner (Dean Norris). The scriptby Gregg Hurwitz has Henry falling madly in love with the pretty girl. He believes Christina is in danger from her step-father and devises a clever scheme to protect her. He writes down his plan in a small note-book about how he will rescue the girl.
