‘Bad Times at The El Royale’ trailer reveals the ‘cons’ for checking in
There are plenty of intriguing new movies coming out towards the end of 2018 with “Bad Times At The El Royale,” certainly atop the list. The new film features an ensemble cast that includes Jeff Bridges, Jon Hamm, Dakota Johnson, and Chris Hemsworth, amongst others. In the new movie trailer that was released fans get to see a general preview for the movie but it leaves plenty to wonder about.
The new movie trailer delivers a look at Jeff Bridges in the role of a suspicious priest and Jon Hamm as a hotel manager. There’s also Hemsworth looking much more like a trippy cult leader than his usual superhero character Thor. While the trailer opens with an inspired talk about the selling points for staying at the El Royale since it’s half in Nevada and half in California, giving guests the option of which state they stay in. While that seems fun in itself, the story soon descends into a more chaotic look at the various criminals who are mixed into the area leading to murder, kidnapping, and more.
As far as the new movie behind the scenes story, this isn’t a true story but is a mystery thriller that director and writer Drew Goddard will bring forth. It examines the hotel which has a dark past and then the reveal of seven strangers, each of whom arrive to the hotel with different secrets they need to bury. It appears like these will be explored with some humor, some mystery, drama, and possibly some gore factor thanks to the fact Goddard was behind the fun horror film “Cabin in the Woods.”
It was revealed that this film was purchased by 20th Century Fox just last March and will be set near California’s Lake Tahoe. However, another new movie behind the scenes story indicates that the filming was done in Burnaby of Vancouver, British Columbia.
“Bad Times At The El Royale” is among the new movies featuring a genre-based feel to it that will come out in the latter part of the year. It’s set to hit theaters on October 5, 2018.
