December’s New Movie FATHER FIGURES Offers Fun Gift

Fresh and new on the screen scene this December 22 is a wry and goofy paternity seeking adventure starring Owen Wilson as Kyle and Ed Helms as his fraternal twin brother Peter. The two are the grown twin sons of Helen, portrayed by Glenn Close, and their holiday mission is not to find Kris Kringle or Santa Claus, but to locate their biological sperm donor from a “panel” of four unique aging men. Their mission leads them to a retired quarterback, portrayed appropriately by former football star Terry Bradshaw, to physician/surgeon Dr. Tinkler, portrayed by the infamously spooky Christopher Walken, to a charismatic and culturally refined Rod Hamilton, portrayed by Ving Rhames, and finally to the temperamental and wealthy Ronald Hunt, portrayed by J.K. Simmons. Should a moviegoer read the cast of this new movie behind the scenes, it might just be enough to bait an audience without even viewing the new movie trailer.

The creatively devised plot, written by Justin Malen and directed by Lawrence Sher, is a Christmas treat in new movies offered during this Christmas season. Although it is rated “R” for occasional foul language and sexual innuendo, it offers a refreshing and comical view on the myriad ways that families are formed. The two brothers have lived to adulthood believing that their patriarch was deceased. The realization that their father may be alive is the exciting impetus and an epiphany for their mission. This oracle fuels the positive brotherly symbiosis for this new movie behind the scenes.

The mantra for this new movie trailer is simply, “This Holiday Season, one family tree is about to find its nuts” could easily take on new meaning by adding an apostrophe to the word “its” into the contraction “it’s” and still maintain an adorable double entendre that should tease potential viewers to see what’s going on among the latest new movies.(1)
